Trek mountain bike

Trek road bikes have been associated with quality since the company was founded in the 1970's. However, in the 1980's the growing mountain bike movement allowed them to expand, and the Trek mountain bike was born. Since that time, the company has been an industry leader in these off road riding machines.

The first Trek mountain bike was designed and built in 1983. Dubbed the 1983 Trek 850, this bike soon began attracting the attention of the burgeoning community of mountain bikers. Several thousand of this first model would eventually be sold.

Today's Trek mountain bike is considerably more advanced than the 850 model. They can be found in both hardtail and suspended designs and often incorporate a number of high-tech construction materials. They are also available in a wide variety of designs and price ranges.
