Discount mountain bikes can be found through any number of sources. In most locations throughout the country, they can be most easily found through local newspaper classifieds and occasionally bike shops. However, there are also a great many online sources as well.

If you want to buy a bike but are new to off road cycling, many people would recommend looking for discount mountain bikes. A top of the line mountain bike can be quite expensive, and for a beginning rider it can be a bit absurd to spend that much money until you know you'll stick with it. A less expensive bike is often more than adequate until one gains the expertise needed for more challenging rides.

It is important to remember that "discount" mountain bikes are not necessarily inferior. Many bike shops will sell their older inventory at discounted prices in order to make room for the new stock. These sales are an outstanding way to get a premier bike at a less than premier sticker price.
